His name: Newt Gingrich.
That is perhaps not the name most people associate with any of these positions, but Gingrich just completed a wide-ranging interview with Univision's Jorge Ramos. Covered were subject such as the Hispanic vote, the DREAM Act, President Obama's performance, the role of Catholicism in the public square - Gingrich is a recent convert - and Cuba.
In all, Gingrich came off as more moderate certainly than his fellow GOP members who belong to the Tea Party. But is that because he plans to challenge Obama in the next presidential election?
"...by March I think we'll make a decision."
Gingrich was noncommital.
"Well, I think we've both discussed it, and we want to get through this election," he said. "We want to do everything we can to help elect Republicans in the next month. Then we're going to look at it, and by March I think we'll make a decision."
